I am a psychotherapy counsellor dedicated to helping individuals navigate emotional challenges and personal transformation.

I offer counselling and therapeutic life coaching. Clients will come to me with a range of problems and often feel some confusion. In our work we will clarify the problem and see what is most challenging for you at the present time. We will discover where this confusion arises in the body and mind and be able to see what started it. Perhaps this has been triggered in the past: by an environment, people, a person, upbringing etc. The work we do is non-judgemental and my purpose is to help you find your way out of the confusion and suffering, so you can find success, purpose and meaning in your life. I will be with you all the way
My specialisms include addiction, anxiety, depression, couples work, bereavement, relationship problems, self esteem, and trauma. I work with all sexual orientations and ethnicities. I use contemporary counselling theory, as well as less traditional viewpoints: I spent seven years as a Buddhist monk and this naturally informs my counselling work.
It takes courage to start therapy. But please know this work is non-judgemental and your opinions are respected and validated throughout the process. Clarifying our true heart’s wish and intention is not always easy, but it is there: often right in front of us and in the palm of our hand. Karen Maree is a registered Social Worker with a BA Honours degree in Social Work (UNISA) and a Bachelor of Theology and Counselling (SATS). Her work is shaped by a deep passion for integrating theology and psychology to help people move toward wholeness, healing, and a life rooted in hope.
Karen is committed to restoring emotional wellbeing, training and providing skilled counselling in-person and online care.
